August 8th, 2007 - Flooding
On August 8th, 2007, three rounds of storms would hit Ross Township causing severe flooding. Around
8:00AM is when the real flooding began to occur, and with so many incidents in Ross working,
REMA (Ross Emergency Management Authority) was activated. Station 246 assisted in several water rescue
details, as well as helping a good number of residents, and business owners pump out their basements, with
our portable pumps. Later in the evening, after the storms had moved away, and with no details pending in our
district, a few members headed for Millvale Borough to assist them with cleanup. When all was said and done
Station 246 ended up with 16 calls due to the floods. Below are some pictures that were taken the day of
the floods outside our station. Photos courtesy of 246 Captain (Ed Zetwo).
