252, 246, 254, 510, EMS 214-2, RQ312-40 Gas Explosion in Residence with Apartment Fire /                                   110 North South Drive                (Cascade Apartments) The structure response was dispatched for a reported gas explosion and apartment on fire at the Cascade Apartments on Cemetery Lane. 252 Assistant Chief (Mark Ford Sr.) arrived first along with Ross Police to find a good smoke condition from the apartment, however no fire. There was also an injury to a resident. 252 Engine arrived first and checked for extension. While 246 Engne 2 (with 5) arrived next and assisted in salvage and overhaul operations. Units returned a short time later. 252 Assistant Chief had the command.

Units were on scene of grease fire in an apartment at the Chapel Hill Apartments. 2nd Alarm, and Transfers requested due to the size of structure, amount of smoke in building, and number of occupants to evacuate. 246 Engine 2, and 264 Truck remained at Station 247 for about 30 minutes.

One patient in dump truck was transported to the hospital.

Just as they arrived however, County 911 alerted 247 they were receiving reports of an explosion at Kane Hospital in 247's district. 247 LT 2 requested Station 246 assist the police, while they headed for Kane. 246 units arrived on scene and began assisting police. The child was found a short time later, with his mother. Just as an FYI, the Kane Hospital call was a good intent, false alarm, nothing found on scene of that call.

While training at the Ross Park Mall Tower, we were alerted for reports of a building fire in the area of McKnight Rd. & Nelson Run. 247 Engine 2, 247 Truck, and 247 Chief (P.Hill) arrived shortly after dispatch with a fully involved structure fire. 246 Engine 2 (with 5), 246 Engine 1 (with 4), and 246 Chief (J.Giger) all came in service shortly after dispatch as well. 246 Engine 2 laid 1600 feet of 5 inch as a supply line to 247 Engine 2. 246 Chief arrived and assumed McKnight Command. Units worked for over three hours extinguishing the fire, and remaining hot spots. Cause of the fire is under investigation by Ross Twp. Fire Marshall.

Fire was found to be in the basement and spread to the first division. Units remained on scene for a little less than an hour checking for extension, and doing some overhaul.
