April 29, 2007 - Around 5:30PM, Stations 259, and 246 were alerted for a possible vehicle fire in the area of 104 Wynn Drive. 259 Chief (J.Woodall) arrived first to find a black Buick Riveria fully involved. 259 Engine 2 arrived next and got a knock down on the fire, while 246 Engine 1 arrived and supplied them with tank water if necessary. After making sure all the hot spots were out, both companies returned.

August 9th, 2007 - Starting around 7:30AM, and lasting till around 9PM, rain pounded the area in brief but brutal shots. Station 246 ran a total of 15 calls, varying from transformer fires, to physical rescues, to flooded roadways, all the way down to the common flooded basement. Ross Township Emergency Management (REMA) was put into action around 8AM. Please click on the photo at right to see more pictures, and where Station 246 went.


May 8th, 2007 - Station 246 along with Stations 259, 260, 191, and 239RIT were dispatched for a reported kitchen fire at 21 Wible Run Rd. For a more detailed story of what happened, and to see pictures please click on the picture at right.

May 2, 2007 - Around Midnight, Station 246 was alerted on a fill for Station 191 to respond into Millvale for a reported structure fire in the area of Lincoln, and Howard Streets. Millvale Police arrived with smoke showing. 246 Engine 1, and 246 Utility both responded. 246 Engine 1 was utilized to lay in as a secondary engine for water supply. 246 Units remained on scene till about 1:15AM helping extinguish the fire, and look for hot spots.

June 8th, 2007 - Around 7:27PM, Station 246 along with other units were alerted to the Waldorf Park Apartments for reported smoke in the building. 247 units arrived first with a working fire in the elevator room. While 247 crews began to extinguish the fire, 246 Engine 2 arrived and was ordered to send its crew to Truck 247 for possible roof deployment. Interior crews extinguished the fire, and vented the smoke. No need for roof deployment, 246 Engine 2 was then re-directed along with 246 Engine 1 to another building in Waldorf to handle a small electrical condition before returning.

July 31st, 2007 - As the members of Station 246 were busy training, Stations 259 and 246 were alerted to reports of a vehicle fire in the area of Geyer Road and Babcock Boulevard. 259 Engine 2, 246 Engine 2, and 259 Rescue all responded and found fully involved vehicle fire about a 1/2 mile up Geyer in Reserve Township. Above crews made a quick knock down on the fire, and returned a short time later.





July 13th, 2007 - As the age old myth of Friday the 13th lives on, its spirits were in full force this day. Around 1PM, Stations 246 (Evergreen), 254 (Fire Police), and EMS 211 (Ross/West View EMS) were alerted to the area of 4641 Peoples Road for a reported dump truck into a utility pole with live wires down. 246 Lieutenant 2 (C.Skertich) took command, and requested Duquesne Light expedite their response. 246 Engine 2 stayed on scene approximately two hours while Duquesne Light removed the wires, and the tow truck removed the vehicle. One patient in dump truck was transported to the hospital.

June 17th, 2007 - Stations 246, 254, and EMS 211, along with City of Pittsburgh Fire and EMS units were alerted to multiple reports of a three vehicle crash with one vehicle on top of two. Also reports stated possible entrapment.

May 31st, 2007 - Around 6:30PM a short, but powerful storm rolled through the Ross Township area bringing several flooding conditions, transformer fires, and other various fire department responses. For pictures of some of the flooding click on the picture at left.
