21 Wible Run Rd - Shaler Township - House Fire

Around 6:35PM, Allegheny County 911 received a call from a tenet at 21 Wible Run Road in Shaler Township,

the caller reported the kitchen on fire, and everyone was evacuating. Allegheny County 911 dispatched

Stations 259 (Bauerstown), 260 (Cherry City), 191 (Millvale), 246 (Evergreen), 239RIT (Mount Troy), 325 (Shaler

Fire Police), and Shaler EMS. Station 259 reported immediately it was the house behind their Station, and they

did have smoke evident. 259 Engine 2 arrived and found the fire on the 1st floor, but had originated in the basement.

As 259 crews began to get a knockdown on the fire 259 Chief (Jeff Woodall) arrived and assumed Wible Run Road

Command. 191 Truck arrived next and positioned themselves on the A,D Corner. 260 Truck arrived next and secured

the hydrant at the bottom of the driveway and laid a 4" supply line. At the request of 239 Chief (D.Welsh), 251RIT was

added to supplement 239's RIT. 246 Engine 1, 260 Rescue, 246 Utility, 246 Squad, and other units arrived a short time later

and reported to staging. 259 Chief also requested Stations 240 (Spring Garden), and 247 (Berkeley Hills) standby in station to

cover for units committed to the fire. He also requested Dominion's People, and Duquesne Light to the scene as well.

After 259 had bulk of the fire knocked down, crews checked all floors for extension, 259 Chief put the fire under control

at approximately 6:56PM.  Units remained on scene performing overhaul, and cleaning up. Units began clearing around 7:45PM

259 remained on scene an extended amount of time waiting for the County Fire Marshall's Office to perform their investigation.
